Editorial
World-class editorial and book marketing services from a 20+ year industry professional
JFM Editorial offers top-notch professional proposal and manuscript development to authors who either already have agents or publishing deals in place, or are looking to self-publish and need a professional edit of their manuscript.
We also offer book marketing services for both self-published authors and authors looking for freelance marketing in addition to their publisher’s in-house efforts.
Reader’s Report (£300/$400 for a manuscript up to 100K words)
A 3-4 page written evaluation of your manuscript, offering feedback on character and plot development (for fiction) and clarity of your ideas, supportive evidence of your thesis, and overall readability (for non-fiction).
Non-Fiction Book Proposal Development (£500/$700 for a complete, salable book proposal)
Using an industry standard book proposal template, we will create a complete book proposal based on your idea that will be ready to pitch to publishers or business associates.
Full Development Edit (£2500/$3500 for a manuscript up to 100K words)
A complete professional development edit of your manuscript (both fiction and non-fiction). This is where we really dig into the manuscript and edit it into final publishable form.
Book Marketing (negotiable depending on services needed)
This may encompass everything from a professional, personalized book marketing plan that includes both traditional and digital marketing activities, building author platforms prior to book publication, individual author social media strategies, blog and article writing in support of your book, and endorsement and reviews solicitation. For some activities, an outside freelancer may be brought on board, but only in consultation with the client. These services may also range from one-off activities to an extended multi-month marketing campaign. Please inquire for information.

Each author represented by JFM Literary is made to feel they are the agency’s only client, a luxury rarely afforded to authors (especially first-time authors) at larger agencies.
Guiding you through the full publishing process
JFM Literary works with each author it represents to develop a top-drawer book proposal that is then pitched to the world’s leading book publishers. Our job is to look after our client’s best interests through the entire publishing process — from contract negotiation to editing, marketing, and promoting your book — so you will never feel alone in what can often be a very daunting experience, especially for a first-time author.
Please note that JFM Literary does not sign any authors for literary representation if they have worked with the client in a paid editorial or marketing capacity at JFM Editorial. These are two separate enterprises.

Jon Malysiak

Jon Malysiak has been a book publishing professional for more than 25 years. His passion is to inspire and motivate each of his clients to realize their dreams of becoming published authors. In this capacity, he has worked with tech entrepreneurs, thought leaders, Top Chefs, Tony and Olivier award-winning producers, and child film stars-turned-Hollywood lawyers, to mention but a few.
Jon is with his authors every step of the way -- from book proposal creation to contract negotiation and manuscript editing, to book marketing and promotion. He is an author's staunchest ally and most enthusiastic cheerleader.
Originally from Chicago, Jon moved to the UK in 2019 and is based in his family home in the Northamptonshire countryside, though he can just as frequently be found in his favorite London and Oxford, haunts. In his spare time, he enjoys all manner of the arts, literature, travel, European football, and fitness.
In 2023, Jon published his first novel, the social satire Posh: Book One of the Templeton Family Chronicles, a project he had been working on with his brother Colin who passed away in 2022.
The novel, which is getting 5-star reviews, is available from Amazon and wherever books are sold online.
